About Coundley's Wildlife

Hi, I’m Dylan, a 22 year-old Welsh ocean science communicator and storyteller.

I graduated in 2024 with a BSc in Biology from the University of Southampton, and since then I’ve been immersing myself in experiences that develop both my scientific knowledge and storytelling skills.

Since June 2024 I’ve logged around 350+ volunteer hours from scientific blog writing for organisations like Ocean Culture Life, to event volunteering with Wildscreen, and both UK-based and international marine field research experience that has incorporated storytelling opportunities.

I believe the ocean is integral to everyone, and in an age where ocean literacy is more important than ever, I hope to play a part in making marine science and conservation more visible, relatable, and impactful.

Took part in the first Wales Nature & Conservation Storytelling Fellowship, crafting a compelling Welsh conservation story about the Cardigan Bay bottlenose dolphins and the people dedicated to protecting them. The film premiered at a public screening in Cardiff on June 7th, 2025, in front of 70+ nature advocates, locals, and fellow storytellers.

The production company Carlam created an episode of Our Lives for BBC iPlayer (Watch Now!) that focuses on the bottlenose dolphins of New Quay, Wales. I received a Network TV credit for contributing high-quality drone footage capturing dolphin behaviour.
